Untweeps

Twitter has a lot of dead accounts. Some people want to dump following people that don't tweet. Although if they don't tweet, how annoying can they really be? But, if you want to dump Twitter users that are sloth to tweet, just check out unTweeps, though it's not without its startup bugs.

First, the bugs/annoyances (perceived - update below):

  • No whitelist access, so once it maxes out the allowed API hits, it breaks
  • Doesn't allow you to log back in with a different Twitter account, so one account per log in (stores it)

unTweeping

The service is a simple, neat idea. You get three times free and additional (per month) access requires you to buy a pro account.

Update: Randall Fink @rlamfink, unTweeps developer, tells me that bug number one is not correctly identified and that you can in fact sign out and back in with a different account. Upon receiving these comments (posted via Disqus), I went back and tested with a "Pro" account and found that what I interpret as an API error may be something else and the log out/in link at the bottom does in fact work.
