There are meal planning companies online, pitching savings through planning that help to lower overall grocery meals. This seemed like a brilliant service to me, but I wondered (aloud) why grocery stores weren't using this feature as a free offering to luer and retain customers.
Aldi has done just that. On aldimeals.com you can search and add existing recipes to your online cookbook, contribute your own recipes (great idea) and create meal plans online. But, the huge advantage is the shopping list feature.
Two words: absolutely brilliant.
Obviously, since I had this idea I think it's great. But, it shall prove to be a formidable loyalty campaign if it catches on. And, in a belt tightening economy, one must assume it will catch on if marketed well.
