Facebook profile

The Facebook profile view is the part people see both before they friend you (the parts you make public) and when they land on your profile after they've clicked on your name somewhere in their feed, post friending. It's important to avoid clutter or messiness, but include relevant information like your website, blog and Facebook fan page.

If you're a successful marketer it's likely you'll have many more fans than friends on Facebook. Friending someone is substantially more intimate an online relationship step than becoming a fan. Many people simple won't friend someone that isn't an actual friend. When someone becomes a fan they are not opening their profile beyond the public view. They can post (if allowed) on the fan page and will receive updates. It's a much more protected relationship.

However, it's important to let your friends know what you're up to and make it easy for them to find your websites.
